I've got a baby girl cocomingming in about a week, so I won't be on here a lot if at all. First off, any tips for a first time parent? And second, I'd like to try and combo with a difficult card to combo with. What is one of the hardest cards to combo with in magic? Not too worried about the second question, though.

1)Congrats. My advice: While diapers say they are for 16-28 pounds they don't hold nearly that amount and need to be changed sooner.

Seriously, sleep when the baby sleeps. When you put her down for a nap you will be tempted to do stuff around the house, don't do it. take the time to lie down as well, it will keep your stress levels down and you'll appreciate it when she throws you those 3am wake up calls.

Congratulations! If you want to teach the child to be a ninja, you must first recognize that the way Cain taught Cassandra was the most optimal method: teach her how to fight as a means to communicate. Also use working out as a reward as supposed to a punishment. Make shopping for clothes a punishment. You'll save so much money in the teenage years that you'll probably be able to afford a power 9 set. At least.
To be more serious: start a savings account for the child now. I mean right now if possible. The sooner you start, the less difficult it is to pay for college, car, the first marriage, and braces.

In honor of your Spontaneous Generation...I say combo Spontaneous Generation!

Just love your daughter and Count until twenty if something goes wrong and react then... Keep in mind that she has to learn all the stuff you already know.

The saving amount stuff is really good, I'm doung this, too.
And learn to ignore someone's crying, it will strengthen your nerves!-)

Thanks for all the input and the congrats! She will be here on Wednesday this week :). As far as savings go, I have two separate accounts for that, first car paid off already, and things are going well along those lines. Just got a better job a month ago as an engineer too. I put together a budget plan to stay firmly on our feet, and so far everything is going well! Thanks again for the tips!

Congrats on your new baby...

Another advice, start a college fund now...

if he decides not to go to college then you have cash to do whatever he pleases with it.
