Title: Commander Conspiracy Deck Thinning

So, slightly surprisingly, conspiracy type cards are banned (not restricted) in Legacy and Modern.
HOWEVER, they are NOT banned in Commander.
This means that since there are 13 conspiracy type cards (one of which can decrease your deck size by 5), one can thin a commander deck down to essentially 82 cards. If not running a side board, one can even negate the need for nonbasic lands thanks to Worldknit, allowing for Ruination/Blood Moon/etc antics against your opponents.

I figure it won't be too long until the masses figure this out (EDH is still huge around my area) so grab them while they are still cheap.

Let me expand on this idea, card by card.

"Advantageous Proclamation (0)
Conspiracy (Start the game with this conspiracy face up in the command zone.)
Your minimum deck size is reduced by five."
In a format that demands that the use of forty more cards than usual, deck-thinning seems like a premium choice. While it should be noted that Conspiracy card DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE NUMBER OF CARDS IN YOUR DECK, ninety five is still smaller than one hundred. Trim the fat.

"Backup Plan (0)
Conspiracy (Start the game with this conspiracy face up in the command zone.)
Draw an additional hand of seven cards as the game begins. Before taking mulligans, shuffle all but one of your hands into your library."
Draw two hands, choose the better of the two. The advantage is ridiculous.

"Brago's Favor (0)
Conspiracy - Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Spells with the chosen name you cast cost 1 less to cast."
How about casting your commander for 1 less? Or buyback spells? Or that one really expensive spell in your deck? Now its possible. Keep in mind with all hidden agenda spells, one needs something close to pen and paper to show that the chosen card was picked at the start of the game and are not just picked on the spot.

"Double Stroke (0)
Conspiracy -Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell with the chosen name, you may copy it. You may choose new targets for the copy."
Murder two creatures? Fireball twice? This is a great utility for those who know their deck.

"Immediate Action (0)
Conspiracy-Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Creatures you control with the chosen name have haste."
What if Blightsteel Colossus had haste? What if your general had haste?

"Iterative Analysis (0)
Conspiracy-Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell with the chosen name, you may draw a card."
Great with buyback spells. Great with flashback. A cantrip is a cantrip and there is little reason to pass up card advantage.

"Muzzio's Preparations (0)
Conspiracy -Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Each creature you control with the chosen name enters the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter on it."
Works well with creatures with first strike, double strike, and/or trample. Your commander is always a great choice for this card.

"Power Play (0)
Conspiracy(Start the game with this conspiracy face up in the command zone.)
You are the starting player. If multiple players would be the starting player, one of those players is chosen at random."
To clarify, the last sentence is to disambiguate the case of multiple players having Power Play. For those who like going first, this is the card for you.

"Secret Summoning (0)
Conspiracy-Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Whenever a creature with the chosen name enters the battlefield under your control, you may search your library for any number of cards with that name, reveal them, put them into your hand, then shuffle your library."
Admittedly, this card is not for everyone. However if using Shadowborn Apostle, Relentless Rats, or a similar card (not sure on the rulings with Clone) this would be gamechangingly powerful.

"Secrets of Paradise (0)
Conspiracy-Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
Creatures you control with the chosen name have "Tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."
While the commander would probably not be the first choice for this card, any one-drop/first-turn drops (think Ornithopter) would be prime choice for mana acceleration.

"Sentinel Dispatch (0)
Conspiracy(Start the game with this conspiracy face up in the command zone.)
At the beginning of the first upkeep, put a 1/1 colorless Construct artifact creature token with defender onto the battlefield."
A free 1/1. A great blocker since it costs nothing to receive.

"Unexpected Potential (0)
Conspiracy-Hidden agenda (Start the game with this conspiracy face down in the command zone and secretly name a card. You may turn this conspiracy face up any time and reveal the chosen name.)
You may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast spells with the chosen name."
For those who MUST have a sideboard, this is an easy way to cast your commander or any multicolored card. One can also take advantage of cards that give bonuses for different types of mana being used during its casting.

"Worldknit (0)
Conspiracy
(Start the game with this conspiracy face up in the command zone.)
As long as every card in your card pool started the game in your library or in the command zone, lands you control have "Tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."
This card disables the ability to have a sideboard. However it allows you to cast spells generally by their converted mana cost. This opens up the door of running virtually all basic lands in tandem with Blood Moon, Pale Moon, Ruination, Trailblazer's Boots, and other nonbasic-hate cards.

At the time of this post, buying a set of these conspiracies from TCGplayer.com costs less than $4. Around where I live that is less than buying a booster pack of Conspiracy. If you play commander, and if you can afford a pack of cards, you have next to no reason NOT to grab these cards while they are cheap.

Lastly, who those haters of Conspiracy type cards:
1)They are currently on the market. If you are banning them, you should also be banning use of M15 and Journey of Nyx cards, as they are also "too new".
2)Commander/EDH is a game variant. You cannot argue against "game variant" cards when you are playing a game variant. Especially if you are running True Name Nemesis (or using a commander printed only from Planechase 2012).
3) At the time of this posting, no Conspiracy cards are banned from Commander. In fact Gatherer even goes as far to say that they are LEGAL in Commander and Singleton. (They are only banned in vintage and legacy).

house rules aside, the release notes for conspiracy state that conspiracys are not legal in any constructed format. since the commander website (the governing body) states under the rules that all cards must be vintage legal, the arguement cand be made since they are not vintage legal they are not commander legal.

So, basically Gatherer has failed me. Excellent.
