Haven't posted in a while, but I was working on some changes for my reanimator deck and was looking at the symmetry between Child of Alara and Moldgraf Monstrosity. Was wondering.....
If I had both of these in play and decided to sac the Child of Alara to some effect, the Child's triggered ability destroys all nonland permanents once the Child hits the graveyard, thus killing the Moldgraf Monstrosity, which then also triggers. Since the Child has hit the graveyard to trigger its ability, wouldn't that make the Child a legal target for the Monstrosity to randomly choose from?

The problem being that two creatures at random are pulled up with Moldgraf Monstrosity, which means to know for sure that the Child would be resurrected (sounds religious...) you could have at max one other creature on the battlefield under your control, aside from the Child and Moldgraf.
Edit: you might want to run Sheoldred/Reya equipped with Darksteel Plate. Eventually you could also have one of the two bring back Avacyn, which would protect your side from the death of the Child.
OR you could just enchant Child of Alara with Gift of Immortality... doesn't the aura go into the graveyard with (or practically just as fast) as the creature to which it is enchanted? JUDGE!
