My two:
  1. Changelings are every creature type but sliver.
  2. The ability of all spellshapers are considered spells, and can be countered accordingly.

1:  No coin flipping allowed in our card games.
2:  If you get up for a beer, you're automatically beer bitch for everyone else.

Lmao.....I don't know where you play Lin-Sivvi, but we're typically a bunch of guys that get together on the weekends and play. A couple guys used to bring their g/f's with them, but only 1 of them knew how to play MTG.  And I don't think he would have liked all of us googling at her yahoo, if you know what I mean.   Strip MTG?.......really?  Damn, I need to come play with you and your crew then.......our girls go drink wine and get manicures and stuff when we get together to play.

yeah sky my group is like yours the girls are in there own little world.  Sometimes they play a game themselves, but there one game lasts like 2 hours because off all the talking they do,

As for house rules lets see

1) no land destruction decks

2) we don't follow the banned or restricted lists, everything is fair game(except un sets) as long is it is not abused.  so right now tinker is the only banned card (some one played DC 3rd turn to many times)

3) 1 for 1 proxies

4) 1 free mulligan

Those are the main ones though there are some that effect multiplay games such as open field for emperour, the way life is done for 2hd

house rules intresting ante stuff

1 slice pizza=rare

1 high quality beverage=rare

store credit can be used as ante

organ harvest and foul play as well as chickens allowed from unglued

banding and old blocking mana burn rules still in effect

creatures with protection from a color are immune to mass removal, but can still be blocked by creatures of that color

We never play less than 4 people and therefore have these houserules:

1) 8 cards starting and max handsize.
2) We start with 30 lives.
3) If you attack your f.ex. left opponent , you have to attack your right opponent before you can attack your left opponent again.

This helps to build up massive games, and make the games more even.

Although we have no rule for it, it's a common understanding that endless loops are not cool.

Also we are discussing to adopt to the new "no mana burn"-rule. After some heavy arguing, we agreed on trying no mana burn for the 3 next sessions, and then see how we feel. :)

I always play MtG with my friends...
1. 10 players (no more, no less)
2. free for all (but alliances are allowed)
3. You can attack any player (even an ally player)
4. When playing a combo deck with infinite something, we must declare a number (less than 1000) at the beginning of any turn and that is how much infinite is... Just to be fair... You have another chance to change that number at the beginning of your next turn...
5. Trash talk ON! (Fun stuff, great for fun games.)

1.) If you are supposed to gain life and you don't mark it, you can't gain it later if you realize you should have.
2.) No Chaos Counter in 1 on 1 on 1.
3.) Two-Headed Giant games are 40 life.

Conversation is like using a deck, sure you can have the same premise to a conversation (as cards to a deck) but you'll never end up with the same interactions :)

Alright my house rules make for... interesting games

At the beginning of each game, before anyone is decided to go first roll a 6-sided die. Play with the following rules with each Die Roll. (these rules are multiplied if rolled multiple times)

1)At the beginning of each players draw step, that player draws an additional card. (The howling mine rule)
2)Each player begins with twice as much life.
3)At the beginning of each players upkeep that player loses 2 life. Player's can't gain life this game. (The Sulfuric Vortex rule)
4) Whenever a player plays an instant or sorcery spell, that player may copy it. That player may choose new targets for the copy.
5)Whenever a player taps a pernament for mana, that pernament produces two mana instead. (The Mana Reflection rule)
6)Each Player rolls a 20 sided die. Then each player begins life with the number rolled.

Other house rules
1) Keep swearing to a minimum.
2) Grudges are allowed to be carried from game to game.
3) If you plan to eat or drink, plan to donate.
4) Give props, when props are due.
5) The first one to lose in multiplayer is the first one to start the next game.
6) 1 Free Mulligan at the beginning of each game.
7) If there are more then 2 people in a game, the player going first gets to draw.
8) Eternal magic rules apply (If someone dies early and wait's 5 rounds. They start back in the game at half-life.)

Pretty much our only house rules are:

* You can do-over minor mistakes, so long as they are spotted straight away (e.g. if you attack with a flyer without realising your opponent also has a flyer, e.g. due to the card art)

* If you draw a 7-land or a no-land hand, you can take a free mulligan (once)

we play:

If you should have gained life/drew a card/created a token, you have until the end of turn to remember.

Food and drink is communal.

In the multiplayer at the end, the guy who won in the 2 player games
gets ganked by everyone.

Trash talk allowed.

Eh, houseruling..

1. The Screw-up (If a player makes a mistake under a four card limit, that player may call a screw-up before the end of his/her turn. If the turn is ended, he/she cannot call screw-up. All players get 3 screw-ups per game.)

2. Grudges (The player with lowest life cannot be attacked. He can, however, be target by spells and abilities. If a player feels that another player singled him out, we allow a grudge match between the two to blow some smoke.)

3. Gloating (You can't play magic without a little smack-talk.)

4. Mulligan (One free Mulligan per game.)

5. Ignorance (Don't Doom Blade a 0/1 Eldrazi token on turn 3.)

Oh and one additional Rule. Go easy on the girls. We'd hate to have them lose interest in the game because of "Turn 5 wins."

Yes of course, when setting up a girl into magic, first you put both of you with slow but powerful decks, make sure hers is slightly better than yours, let both of you build up large armies, make an attack on her, then let her counter attack, and keep this going until she wins, most of the time they will start to like the game after this.  Don't go ruthless on them until after their 5th game with their own deck
