Hello everyone...just getting back into mtg and wanted advice on assembling a black green deck for modern...I have Skythrix and putrefax and would love to make them. playable...that said that is what I wish to focus on...keeping them in my deck (i.e. not cutting them...) I'm not looking for uber competetive...just something with a nice kick to it...please and thank yous to anyone who can help.

Since you want to keep 2 infect creatures might as well keep that going with an infect deck.  Most infect creatures are in B and G, however, I would splash red in that as well.  Besides the obvious terminate, red allows for colossal might, as well soul's fire and flesh/blood which go great with infect

I would.  Soul's fire and blood are great cards for infect, well worth it by themselves.  But the ability to use terminate, dreadbore, as well as the some can't block cards makes it worth while.  There are enough dual lands allow for the red without hinder anything

So...the only question now is whether to go creature based or removal based...any ideas on which is better?

neither is better then the other each has its pro's and con's, the better is determined by your meta and what types of decks will you play against.  Start with a 50/50 mix and modify it from there

i'd skip in the red, but focus on the black/green...

use landkill and creatures, and a few instants to pump the creatures up

Reap and Sow
Rolling Spoil
Rain of Tears
creeping mold
Putrefy
small pox
Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
living lands (or other cards that do this) + plague wind (or damnation)
living plane
might of oaks
giant growth
Strength of the Tajuru
whispersilk cloak
inkmoth nexus
Hand of the Praetors

also... use stuff with proliferate if you can (Contagion Clasp for example)

stuff like that should help

make sure you use a lot of creatures with infect too

if you decide to go green, red, black... use kessig wolf run with the inkmoth nexus... it is potentially a one hit wonder

Don't forget Glistener Elf and Phyrexian Crusader.
