maybe this has not been added yet... i dunno... but how do i add a picture underneath my name on the forums?

This hasn't been completed, but it will soon. This option will be available under the Profile link at the top.

It's done. I still need to format the forum display a bit to handle larger avatars (like the one I am currently using).

I prefer Live chat over signature. Live chat is harder though.
