So, I've got about...a shit load of left over rings from my last couple chainmail projects. So, I thought about one of the coolest weapons I ever saw when I was a kid. Anyone else play Castlevania when they were young? If you do, then you know where I'm going with this. I'm making a chainmail whip. Right now, I have a core of about...3 feet long made. It's made of aircraft grade aluminum. I plan on making the sleeve of galvanized steel. Haven't given a lot of thought to the handle though...any suggestions? It needs to be strong enough to hold together under use. I'm thinking about the future owner of this whip, so I'm trying to keep it light weight. I'm thinking also of making the sleeve with an 8-in-2 weave. Haven't thought of a price yet. Gotta be more than $400. Time and material.
