Title: My Tanglewire Deck

Before we go any further I would like to start by saying this:

1) This deck is being made for a COMPETITIVE Legacy environment.  Not a leisurely one, so most of the combos posted on this site will not be able to make it in here for a variety of reasons (too slow, not really feasible, etc).

2) I didn't play for about four years, namely from the end of Kamigawa Block till Zendikar.  So naturally, I don't have alot of those cards from those sets, though I HAVE managed to acquire some.

3) Im trying to keep this mono-green as far as colored cards go.

So PLEASE keep all this in mind when making suggestions.

So this is how the deck works:

Generally I can Manipulate the deck with Mirri's Guile, and in order to enable a lockdown i use Gilder Bairn + Tangle Wire.  Seedborn Muse + Vedalken Orrery to play whatever I need to on my opponents turns.  Darksteel Reactor is "A" win condition, but not the only, as i can use Blastoderms/Saproling Burst to swing on my turn if I need to(after ridding myself of the lockdown with a Naturalize on my opponents turn, targeting my Tangle Wire).  Its not a bad deck at all, but i feel as if there is something I could do better.  So let the suggestions begin.  Here is the deck:

Creatures:
4x Blastoderm
4x Gilder Bairn
3x Seedborn Muse

Enchantments:
4x Mirri's Guile
4x Canopy Cover
3x Saproling Burst

Instants:
4x Naturalize
3x Worldly Tutor

Artifacts:
4x Tangle Wire
4x Vedalken Orrery
3x Darksteel Reactor

Lands:

20x Forest

I look forward to INTELLIGENT responses and questions  :-P

Static Orb could find its way in there, but what would be taken out for it?  For future reference please suggest this as well.   Static Orb IS good, but it can be counter-productive to the deck as well.

Well, it is counter productive if you don't have a seedborn muse in play... Hmmm.. Which one to take out? That's a hard question... All seem to be good...

Or if not maybe use winter orb in play of static orb... to enable your creature to move...

It's a solid deck the only suggestion I would make is to add vitalize in place of naturalize.  This way you can still work your second win con without breaking the lockdown. but naturalize is so benefical that will still be a tough call sideboard maybe.

yah, i had Vitalize in the first Iteration of it.  It may make its way back to MD or SB.  (since in the legacy scene, Naturalize could be the only reason i win a game, since there are Stax decks and 2land Charbelcher decks all over the place.

Looking at this, I found a lot of similarities to a deck I built. I know you want to keep this mono-green. But take a moment to consider this.......just consider......

I see what you are doing with the Vedalken Orrery, Canopy Cover, Naturalize,.....this is an alternative to that idea.

Using G/W , or even a minimal amount of white, the same thing can be achieved with protecting your Seedborn and other creatures, repeatable Naturalize, as well as returning a dying Blastoderm to your hand for re-use.  Running 3 each of the Veilstones and Aura Shards, with 4 Whitemanes.......would open 2 cards for maybe Vitalize or To Arms! ......then find a way to squeeze in 2 more of those.  Static Orb and Tangle Wire imo, are interchangeable......either would work.

Other than that, if you're intent on keeping mono-green.....looks pretty tight. You just need that room in there to untap your permanents during your own turn.

Added note:  Obviously, I'm sure you understand that you would cast Whitemane , returning itself, to trigger the Veilstone and Aura Shards.  This gives you repeatable usage during either turn.

One more thought:   Sorry, I really like this idea, and continue to think about it....

With Seedborn in play, Static Orb would allow only 2 permanents to untap.....meaning during THEIR turn, you may only ever have to cast one Whitemane ( W1) to protect your board, leaving the rest of your mana available to you. You would untap your W1 during your turn, giving you full mana for your turn.

And I can't help but think that Dauntless Escort would be so good in here, protecting you from Wrath effects. But then, you would have to revise your Gilder Bairn/Darksteel Reactor idea. Hmmm, nice deck.
