In this discussion I'd like all of us to discuss how we like this new set (not the rare dual lands, enough has already been said about them). Personally I think the cards and mechanics are good but I'm only collecting from it for my EDH decks. Swift Justice, Ethereal Armor, and Risen Sanctuary for my Naya EDH; Avenging Arrow, Azor's Elocutors, Inaction Injunction, Soul Tithe and Syncopate for my Esper EDH; and Mizzium Mortars for ry Mono Red EDH. All I have left to collect are Righteous Authority and Utrava Hellkite. I'm commited to UB control being my Standard decktype so be fore I start collecting for Standard I'm gonna wait and see what the Dimir guild looks like.

I want to know what all of you think about the set and whether you are satisfied.

I'm incredibly satisfied - the standard decks that are out are much more varied and diverse compared to what was around before it. I think it's opened up a very wide range of deck types that players can tweak and make their own.

Now I think their are a lot of good EDH cards added too (Rakdos and Jarad make very fine generals), I'm surprised you listed Swift Justice as a card for your EDH deck though. That card is so underpowered for EDH, why are you putting that in?

Right now I'm still undecided, there are aspects I like and some I don't, I am liking detain and unleash.  Overload is more about the card if its worth it and havn't played populate yet but playing againest it seems to have some potential.  I am really disappointed in scavage. its to overcost most of the time especially combined with the heavier mana cost creatures golgari has.

I agree with Captain, One thing I am liking is that nothing seems to be really overpowered in the sense it will dominate standard.  its been awhile since we had such diversity

Though to be honest I have been looking more forward to gatecrash

The reason Swift Justice is in the deck is because the deck ramps and land fetches into creatures costing 6-8 with the exception of Serra Angel which I have a wide variety of to cast and hook Auras onto them. The general is Johan (that's his whole name).

Swift Justice isn't an Aura, it's a one-time boost to a creature. It's worse than Giant Growth (in my opinion).

I know it isn't. It's an instant. The deck consistantly gets out big creatures.
