Title: Standard Building on a Budget #1: Burn

We all know the big expensive burn spells in Standard...

(Bonfire of the damned, mizzium mortars)

So, how do we build a viable deck without them? First we find the most cost efficient common burn spells, and pseudo-burn.
- Pillar of Flame - Goblin Arsonist
- Brimstone Volley - Searng Spear* (2)
And put them in. * cards are functional reprints that could be less expensive but not broken. Now we have:

4 Pillar of Flame
4 Goblin Arsonist
4 Brimstone Volley
2 Searing Spear

Now, the uncommons:
- Flames of the Firebrand* -Guttersnipe
- Thunderous Wrath

Add them in, most likely at 4 each. 26 cards. Now, let's look for cheap rares and more creatures to fill in the gaps...
-Curse of Bloodletting (2-3) - Lobber Crew (pinger & blocker :) )

Now, we have approximately 32 Cards. Since it's a fast burn deck, 22 lands should be enough. So we have room for 6 more cards, or utility lands... Hellion Crucible...

I say, for those who like to spend, play the Crucible and Rakdos Cackler. For those who don't, like me, play A few more walls maybe or Volcanic Geyser. Who doesn't like X spells? And for the crazies, try Volatile Rig! One of the only colorless board sweepers!

Also, Black has a lot of nice Rakdos ping and life loss spells to offer as well, if you want to go multicolored.

It's not bad. I wouldn't play it personally, just because I find mono-red decks not fun to play. I'm surprised that you didn't include any street spasms, that card's a lot better than Geyser in my opinion. Sure it can't reach players, but you need it for those decks like tokesn or zombies that can fill the board with creatures, and wasting a searing spear on one just won't do it.

As for lobber crew, have you considered throwing in some cryptborn horrors or Rakdos cacklers? They trigger the Crew, let you keep it mono red, and are pretty aggro. I don't think they're very expensive either. I don't know, I just wanted to find a way to take more advantage of the crew.

No, its not that nopony likes it. (I personally love a good burn deck). You've got a solid budget build here...The only thing is...does it perform well against other decks? And for that maybe include a little playtest data? Just throwing that out there
