So I was just wondering what the interaction between these two cards would be...?  If you cast Moonhold at the beginning of your opponent's upkeep, then cast Path to Exile on their creature during their turn......would they be allowed to place the land into play?

This is not a definite answer, but I believe he would'nt be able to search for a land.

There is actually no interaction, moonhold won't let you play lands, Pte puts lands into play.  These are both two seperate actions.

So, even though your opponent is not allowed to play land cards, they are still allowed to "put a land into play" through other effects?

I think what the Moonhold was pertaining to is the "play one land per turn" basic rule... Not the fetch land from PtE.

Yes, as oppessed to some cards that increase the lands per turn, Moon hold effectively sets that to zero.

I also believe that you would have to search for a land and put it into play. The second card's rule is going to overcome the first one's.

Well, that is if you choose to search with PtE... Well, it says on PtE's text that "Remove target creature from the game. Its controller may search his or
her library for a basic land card, put that card into play tapped, then
shuffle his or her library."
