How did everyone's prerelease go?

I ended up picking Selesnya. I pulled a Jace and tried to run some blue, since I also got the emperial armor/howling mine aura (W/U rare). I started winning once i stuck with just that and a single island.

For everyone that didn't go, you get a thin box with a pack of cards specifically for your guild, a die with corrosponding colors, a welcome card and achievement card, and five booster packs.
The place I went to, they ran out of Azorious boxes. Rakdos was second most popular, but barely beat out Golgari. I only saw one person that picked Izzet. I didn't chat with all 52 people, but I was really surprised at the lack of support Izzet had.

Corpsejack Menace almost always made it into play. That being said, the scavenge abilities often hit late. It was shame. That being said, the unleashable black regenerator was the bane of my existence when I got my 8/8 vigilance token in play from the Selesnya promo card.

Just so people don't fear picking Golgari, Selesnya does not get any of the graveyard hosers That card must be my second favorite mana acceleration card. It is amazingly helpful.

People were raving about the Rakdos promo. It was good defense if needed and a great beat stick when required.

The white pegasus was a great common and the Selesnya charm was very versatile.

Good luck to all who get out and hit the prerelease running on sunday!

Mine went well, I went 3-1 picking Selesnya. Out of 60 some people, only 4 picked Selesnya which I was shocked by (another Selesnya person went 4-0, so we generally did well too). There was a LOT of Izzet, I was surprised since I considered it to be worst guild. There was an Izzet guy who pulled Jace, and even then could only go 2-1-1 (and he is like the best player at the shop too).

Golgari was crazy popular though, it was the only guild I lost to. I completely underestimated scavenge + lifelink creature. That daggerdrome imp did some damage, I saw it won a couple matches.

It also seemed like a lot of people pulled Desecration Demons (myself included). That card won games every time it hit the field it seemed like, I thought there would be far more removal than there was. Usually, if something got out, aside from combat tricks, it wasn't going anywhere.

I'm going out again today in a bit for the Sunday half, thinking about going Azorius this time. So many people picked Golgari yesterday, that I'll mostly be playing other Azorius, Rakdos (which Azorius tends to fare well against I've noticed), and some Izzet. No one like Selesnya which again just baffled me.

Oh and in my winning packs was a Lotleth Troll, an Armada Wurm, and an Epic Experiment so I called it a good day.

Well, I played in 3 prereleases at my shop: one at midnight, 7am, and at noon. I went 3-1 in each prerelease with golgari, selesnya, and azorius. I did not make it to the top 8 drafts due to the number of people playing. Each had over 40 people except 7am, which was less than the 16 needed to do a top 8 draft. I ended up getting lots of good stuff, including 3 abrupt decays, 3 lotleth trolls, a rakdos, a temple garden, a jarad, and 2 desecration demons.

glad some people did well.  Mine wasn't so good.  1 stab wound, 1 mind rot, 1 destroy the evidence, 1 annalating fire, 1 trostani judgement and that was the removal I drew.

I was play golgari and first two matches were againest selesnya.  Ended up drawing both of them,  Golgari offers alot of fatties but not so much evasion or even trample couldn't get past the chumpers.  Third round was the mirror, we pretty much played the same creatures, but he had a better removal suite. ended up losing that 2-1.  Final round was againest izzet.  A turn 4 hypersonic paired with a lack of ways to deal with flyers lead to first round loss but ended up taking the other 2 rounds.

Cards that worked really well for me were Underworld connections(pretty much always won when it hit even againest selesnya), perilous shadow, stab wound worked really  well, and drainpipe vermin was basically unblockable when I had B free.  The main card I hated was Druid's deliverce it screwed me over a couple times.  nothing else realy stood out.

One card that really stands out as a common is the rootborn defenses. Like even if you don't have tokens, I loved this card.

It's not as good as golgari charm (which can just regenerate your creatures) if you don't have a token, but it can turn into some serious board advantage. Your opponents alpha strikes thinking about getting a few trades and either damage or your chump creatures, and then you turn it until killing 2 or 3 creatures. Sure it's not always that good, but it's pretty darn sweet when you can get it to work.

I went with Selesnya and went 2-0 before having to drop for work. I legitimately thought I was fucked because I had a ton of populate cards, but only 4 or 5 cards that actually made tokens. Luckily I got them out every game and I gotta say, 2nd turn Call of the Conclave was just beautiful. I pulled Trostani from my guild related pack (I was all like, whaaaa???) and I also pulled a Necropolis Regent and Woldspine Wurm. I also found that Grove of the Guardian got shit done in limited. I populated the hell out of that sucker and the best thing was there was only like, 1 or 2 bounce spells floating around so as soon as he hit the board it was basically game. Out of the populate cards, I really like new fog. Its the cheapest method of populating and paired with Trostnani I had uber tokens by the end of things.

I too noticed that scavenge + Corpsejack came too late in the game to really make a ton of difference. By the time they were able to scavenge anything decent I had at least 2 8/8 vigilance tokens or a selesnya charm to exile them with. I never played Rakdos, but I did notice Hypersonic Dragon getting work done too. My shop was mostly Izzet and Azorius. Selesnya, Rakdos and Golgari were all pretty even.

All in all, I likeums the Selesnya, I might even build a proper deck since I have Trostani. I just need more Thragtusks and an Armada Wurm... $_$

Azorius, 3-2, pulled Vraska,2 palisade giants, righteous authority, steam vents. ran U/W with a splash of R for izzet staticaster, tenement crasher, and splatter thug.
