Ok, I don't play EDH often at all, but I do have a nasty Esper deck that is nearly big enough to be 100 cards. The deck runs normally at 85 cards. So, I need a good idea for an Esper commander. Any ideas? The deck runs a fun gimmick too. Transguild Courier and Spirit of Resistance. I use Memnarch and a Liquid Metal Coating for the lols, also makes the Darksteel Forge uber.

Do you play a lot of colorless artifacts? Then try Dromar, the Banisher!

Here are all the Esper-coloured legendary creatures:

Chromium - Expensive and not overly strong. Plus the upkeep cost is a pain.

Dakkon Blackblade - Awesome art, and in long games he will always be big.

Dromar, the Banisher - Particularly good if you run a lot of colourless artifact creatures. It gets awkward when you want to bounce white, blue or black though.

Ertai, the Corrupted - A more controlling general. Can't sacrifice artifacts to counter stuff, but you can still sacrifice artifact creatures.

Halfdane - Interesting choice. Could be good if you have a colossus or something else huge on the battlefield.

Lady Evangela - Kind of underpowered IMO.

Merieke Ri Berit - Cheap to cast and pretty strong. She is insane with stuff like Thousand Year Elixir or anything else that allows for repeated untapping.

Sen Triplets - Pretty darn fun, and is an artifact, if that matters.

Sharuum the Hegemon - Another artifact creature, can be pretty useful with repeated blink effects like Cloudshift, Momentary Blink or Restoration Angel.

Zur the Enchanter - Doesn't seem like the right fit.

Theoretically, all the five-colour generals would work too, but if you're looking for Esper only, here they are. I think I'd choose Ertai (synergy with Memnarch), Merieke or the Triplets.

I use Master Transmuter and Master of Etherium. I have the blink effect and a massive creature. I also use March of the Machines with Memnarch and Liquidmetal Coating. Having artifacts isn't going to be a problem with Darksteel Forge. I'll probably go with the Sphinx.

You know what's crazy? I remember when those cards were new. Wow...I feel old.

I remember when I first got Hand of Justice and Ebon Praetor, and I thought that they were the coolest things ever. They were both avatars as well, as was Personal Incarnation. I always though that there'd be something special about the avatar subtype.

I also remember when my brother's friend whipped out both Plague Wind and Avatar of Woe. Both cards were from the same set, and I remember thinking that that set must be crazy.
