Title: Best Reanimation Targets

Yes, yes. I know that the Graveborn premium deck was released. It is my opinion, however, that the deck skipped over some very good creatures, especially some from more recent sets,

I'd like to start out by pointing towards Krond, Dawn Clad from Planechase 2012. It is begging for an Animate Dead or Necromancy to bring it back from the graveyard.

Elesh Norn is a great example. I've seen many articles that talk about using her blue counterpart, but they kinda just leave her out of mention.

In that regard I prefer Griselbrand of Jin-Gitaxias, it has a better flavor.

Iona, Shield of Emeria is quite good. Against a mono-colour deck you can basically lock out your opponent. Even against multi-colour decks, you can hose them pretty well.

I'm going to have to do some research with Necrotic Ooze, also it is pretty cheap to hard cast.

I'm playtesting Gisela (from Avacyn Restored) in my reanimator deck (replacing a Penumbra Wurm, which was in the deck since its start). I'm not sure how much the damage modifiers will help, but first strike was something my deck was severely lacking.

Has anyone used Gisela yet? How does she play?

playing around alittle I've found The Mimeoplasm to be kinda fun.

Flayer of the Hatebound is one of the nastiest cards in a reanimator deck.  Reanimate him and then reanimate something large with lifelink/deathtouch and you can kill anything or do a lot of damage and gain lots of life.  Maybe reanimate a Serra Avatar with a Flayer out... head shot.

Serra Avatar shuffles but Reya Dawnbringer or Sheoldred  are fun too

For the Animate Dead enchantment, Worldgorger Dragon is hands down the best card.

^^ maybe I'm misunderstanding you... but if you used Animate Dead on the dragon, wouldn't the Animate Dead be exiled immediately destroying the dragon and everything would just come back?

Yes... all your ETB and LTB effects take effect... then, when animae dead comes back, target the dragon, and lather rinse repeat...

Which is why Worldgorger Dragon is banned in Legacy.
