I am slightly curious about the number of morphs. What is the reason you have so many?

I know your deck is not my pauper black deck, but I do enjoy Dark Favor. I'd personally play it over the elves. Perhaps Quiet Disrepair for handling more than just creatures.

It looks really good, what has been happening to set it back?

I find i like the versitality of the morphs as they can become the best creature or artifact on the field.  since i still am see alot of the swords running around it comes in handy.

I did consider dark favor but i don't like the 2 for 1 deal, not to mention rancor was the better booster for infect thanks to the trample.  as for taking out the elf, cant do that since it can start dropping poison counters turn 2

As for quiet despair its not standard, however, it did made me realize i forgot to post the side board which has naturalize.  so i'm editting the first post.

And I don't know what you mean by "what has been happen to set it back"

Woah, hey wait, Planechase 2012 isn't in standard? That kinda sucks. (Quiet Disrepair was reprinted in it.)

I was curious why you posted your deck. Usually when people have other people look at their deck, it is because it is not working the way the owner wants it to work (at least that is how it works in my circle of friends). If I knew what you thought the problem areas were, I'd be able to focus on those areas more.

Only thing I would suggest.....  Try to find a way to add (Caress of Phyrexia x 2). Maybe drop 1 Cathedral and 1 Ichorclaw? Caress is a solid finisher.

Btw, I'm a fan of the Morph's.....I feel that's a good call, but with 5 phyrexian mana sources in the deck, it's gonna be tough not to maindeck some life. Have you considered running some Disciple of Bolas?

If it were me, I'd be in favor of dropping the Gambits, and working in 3 Disciples. Your Morphs may become something the Disciples could benefit from and your pumped critters could get you some serious card advantage.

@boyachi-  During the summer Wizards releases a set that is stricly for casual use.  planechase, commander, archenemy  all fall in this catagory.  Currently the only things sets that are in standard are, scars block, innstrad block, m12 and m13.  Scars and m12 rotate out in oct when ravinca comes in.

As for why posting the deck, yes sometimes you need help to solve problems other times you want a differant points of view.  We all have differant metas we play in as a result we play differant ways, and can offer differant approachs.  Take Skybreak's comment, I did not consider Caress and forgot about disciple.  With rancor, Disciple is to good to pass up, and while I'm not adding caress it did make me consider poisoning my opponent directly and possibliy adding hand of the prator.  basically I posted it to get ideas about what i might have missed that could work

@skybreak-  Thanks for the ideas

@guillotine- glad you like it, take what you want

I think Disciple is a good decision. After an exalted Ichorclaw attacks with Rancor, you have a (6/4 +) creature til the end of turn, which the Disciple will pay you handsomely for. Hell, if you have an unblocked exalted Crusader with Titanic, it's a (7/7 +).

If you don't run Caress (which, a single copy can be a finisher after an attack, esp. that 7/7 Crusader), I'd be wary to run more than 1 Hand of the Praetors. It is a creature without haste and expensive to run if you're already running 3 Morph's and 3 Disciples. Your deck is fairly inexpensive, you don't wanna drain that too much. Unless you drop the 3 Morph's for 3 Hands......tough call.

Let us know how it plays out.

By the way, have the Titan's dropped out of Standard now? Just wondered if you're still having to deal with Solar Flare decks. Those might give you some trouble.

Titans, as well as all other cards from Magic 2012 and Scars block, will be in Standard until Return to Ravnica is released. So be sure to Ponder while you can!
