Engineered Plague

2B

Enchantment

As Engineered Plague enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
All creatures of the chosen type get -1/-1.

Has anyone ever noticed that key staple creatures for legacy are human creature types with a 1 for defense. Don't believe me? there are 54 cards as such with converted mana cost of 2 or less. This includes such cards as dark confidant, noble hierarch, any of the "Magus of.....", Weather Wayfarer, Snapcaster Mage, Grim Lavamancer, Argothian Enchantress, ect.

*whistles through my teeth* Back in my day, whippersnapper, I we had cards that did what the magi did.

Engineered Plague is the perfect in-deck-sideboard card for black decks. 79 times out of 80, it is never going to come back to bite you.

I have one of those! They're really useful sideboard cards.

this is of course assuming they aren't using something to make them stronger. I would definetely do something to protect my confidant. often times though, people running weenies have some gimmick to make them hard to get rid of. if you're NOT playing political, just fire off a Plague Wind. better results.
