Title: clone/followed footsteps question

if i have a clone out on the field cloning a creature(lets say gold myr) , and i enchant the clone with followed footsteps, do my new clones come out as clones of the gold myr, or do my new clones get to choose new targets to clone?

I'm hoping the Clone gets recreated and the new one that comes into play can become a copy of a target as well, but I'll venture the clone is an exact copy, so it's a clone copying whatever it was copying.

The copy will be of whatever creature clone is cloning.

If you want repeated clones, you could use something like Chorus of the Conclave and Clone, pay extra to have it enter with +1/+1 counter, and choose not to have it copy anything (the copy ability is a "may" ability). That way it retains it's copying ability for each of its tokens.
