It's worth your time. I remember way back when Fr. O'Conner introduced me to it. Defenitely one of the more awesome priests and teachers I've ever met.

she will never see play in standard...ever!

and honestly after seeing the trailer and avacyn, i'm not really looking forward to this set.

It completely depends! Avacyn is much more abusable, but she needs other cards! Akroma is a great standalone card!

Wait, an 8/8 flying vigilance that gives everything you control indestructibility versus a 6/6 flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, haste, protection from black, protection from red.

Far as Standard is concerned she might see play in Pod decks that's about the only time I can see it happening

In the current standard there is unburial rites.

However i don't see reanimation being used on her, she's just not good enough. When you reanimate you want the new creature to impact the game right away, such as the sexy undeadness of Norn or jin, even the titans. When you consider she still falls to a good 75% of the removal in standard, her ability, while good, just isn't game changing enough.

As for non standard reanimation people will try her in casual, but I don't see her replacing Iona anytime soon in competative formats, for the above reasons.

It is possible she will get some support, after all the is only the first preview card of the set and she will be around for 3 more. But with what we currently have I don't think she'll be seen alot, all in all, standing alone, I think she is a weak card that doesn't live up to its hype. i would choose Akroma.

and avacyn is way better. i've never felt threatened by someone with an akroma. avacyn on the other hand could be a completely different story.

Avacyn might see a tiny bit of play in FRites, but even then i think shes more sideboardy!

i guess avacyn could see play if you ran her in a blue white self mill with that wb flashback resurrect spell.
