Title: Round 2: Multi-format tournament

Ok so the current point standings are:

  • Dying: 0
  • chief: 1
  • Lin: 1
  • Captain: 0
So on to round 2..

Round 2: Hero of the Paupers

  • 60 card deck, deck consists of nothing but commons
  • Commons can only come from the core sets 4th - 10th editions
  • Cards printed in multiple core sets need to maintain common status in all core prints
  • Due to the set restriction there will be no other restrictions to what can be played
Pairings will be posted monday night.  Others are always welcome to join

The problem is that most of the core sets feature duplicate cards of the previous sets.

Hero, I forgot to mention includes the expansions to each core set.

Maybe you could get gericault or someone else to act as a stand in. A 'champion' to represent you if you will.

Luckly for you chief my schedule is almost completely free.  I could even do a game at 1:00 this friday (tomorrow)

Yews only 4th thru 10th. Reprints in later cores are ok

Due to circumstances only partially in my control, I have no choice but to concede my match to The Captain. I have obligations that were made ahead of time (It would seem I have poor time management skills to say the least). I apologize for the cop-out on my part.

I'm game for monday, but It'lll take me thirty minutes to drive home so I'll be able to be on by 10:30pm. (In your time zone that is. In mine it will be 9:30 pm.)

It was a spectacular battle! But in the end Captain beat me 2-1 (Save for the last round...my need to play multicolor undid me.) I must say that Evasion is brutal in any situation. But alas my plan failed. I planned to keep one of each circle of protection in sideboard to win me this round....yet I was stricken down by my own fondness of U/W. Let this be a lesson, never play multicolor when playing in a format with only 1 mana fixing land.

PS: In case your wondering The Captain beat my face in with storm crows...let's just say...unstable mutation is scary.

Man we totally should have banned storm crow, it is so over-powered.

Storm Crow is banned in every format, but Gericault foolishly said that there were no other restrictions. There's just no answering that kind of unstoppable force.

Squire is not even close to the awesomeness that is storm crow, how could I forget to ban a card of that level, I'll be sure to next round

Im gonna give lin the win, I have been packed recently from my trip to Megacon in Florida, so now I have some makeup work in school, and I may of been able to do this round if it wasnt only commons, I have tried to make a deck several times, but its just so hard T_T
