Title: The Rock: Fatty Choice

So I have not seen or played a Rock deck since its inception to magic in the Invasion Block. I recently checked the deck list out and have noticed that the fatty choice has changed from Spiritmonger to Abyssal Persecutor.
I also noticed that this has obtained a bit more synergy. If it were not for the synergy aspect of the deck today I would not like the fatty choice.
An ever growing creature that regens for cheap and can change color to me still seems to be the better creature as a stand alone card.
