Title: Online Play Suggestions.

I was looking at some of this online Magic playing. I already plane Duel of the Planeswalker, but it's not the same or as challenging as playing your own created deck and I like the idea of EDH, although I've never played it.

Nothing will get me back into spending money on cards as it would be ugly to compare the cards I had to what it would cost to own them today, so that's out.

So I had discussed getting into an online thing and I was hoping you guys could suggest some ideas, their pros and cons, etc.

Please don't just suggest a program. Give me a reason why I should play one versus the other. Feel free to get in-depth.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Cockatrice. One its free. Two you build  your own deck. Three  its relatively Spike free. Four Almost any format is supported and games can go to huge player numbers

Downsides. Decent internet speed is required, and some people have ridiculous decks because they can use any card.

The two main ones I am aware of are cockatrice and magic workstation both are free, functionally they are the same, build decks play them againest others.

In terms of the nit and grit of deck building workstation is the superior it offers alot of statistics and the like.

However, for game play cockatrice is the easier to just get in and go.  It's multiplayer function gives you more game options, and I found alot of the players are easier to deal with and not complete jerks.

Also cockatrice is a hell of alot easier to update when new sets come out.

In regards to the simplicity of deckbuilding, i would just make decks in tapped out, then export them to cockatrice! Although unfortunately there are some cards that dont go between sites (deja vu (stupid accents), and emeria, the sky ruin are the ones i know of!), its fairly simple to just put those 1 or 2 cards in on cockatrice!
