I think this card is definitely one of the more interesting to come out of Innistrad, and I was thinking of making a deck around it.
Perhaps the most amusing combo I've found so far is Essence + Splintering Wind - 6/6s for three mana plus a 1 damage ping.
But I had a really wacky idea to splash blue for Puca's Mischief. I just wanted to make sure it works. The idea is drop Essence of the Wild, create creature tokens (which also copy the CMC cost correct?), then exchange some of them using Puca's Mischief for their best creatures. Now, anything they cast will become an Essence of the Wild, which should throw a cog in their gameplan, while you overwhelm them with creature tokens.

Army of the Damned is pretty... damned funny, and I originally thought about splicing Black so I could recur creatures with Unearth. If I'm not mistaken, they would come into play as copies of Essence and lose the "exile at end of turn" part.
But I think I'm sold on the idea of splicing blue. I just thought about making Essence of the Wild the only creature, and using creature token generators with Polymorph to get him out (somewhat) reliably on turn 3.
And Puca's Mischief would just be fun. I just like the idea of every creature on the board becoming a copy of this guy, especially since he looks suspiciously like one of the Knights Who Say Nee (except wrapped up in shrubberies).
