So, what do you guys think about this new SOPA act that tries to limit our rights on the internet. Personally, I only have one response.

You can't stop the signal.

Burn the house down! The shackles of society no longer bind us.

The NDAA passed. You should be far more worried about that. Congress doesn't give a  flying *fig* what the public thinks anymore. Or they wouldn't have passed the NDAA. Their approval rating is at a massive 9%. That's right Herpes is now slightly more popular than Congress. Its a bad bill.

I still have faith in the supreme court, it shouldn't take long for them to take this out.

No offense, Lin, but faith in politicians?!

They supreme court is made of lawyer/judges, not politicians. AS to which one you should have more faith in, ehhh.

@ lin, if by "shouldn't be long" you mean "with in 2 yrs" i agree.

It won't take long to find the technical loopholes in it all. As far as it goes, for the most part stirs controversy, controversy hides other things taking place at the time...I wonder what bullshit is going down in D.C. that they don't want us to take notice? Makes ya wonder what's really going down...

And it aint a brony-fest...just stopping you before you get your hopes up...if anything it's probably another war...I'm thinking this time...we may attack...Austrailia? hmmm....quick someone start a betting pool! I smell opportunity...or maybe fries...mmmhmmm fries....

I used to like fries, but then I died.

Personally, I don't see why we need a government. Governments just stop the world from burning. And if there's anything that I love, it's gold.

Twogun, the approval rate for Congress will always be low, because what Congress does is mainly compromises, and people want absolutes. Also, what is the approval rate for herpes, and how would they even find it???

You're quoting a comedian as a credible source?

@two gun Obummer Vetoed the NDAA. probly as a ploy to gain votes, not a bad  thing though (the veto that is). The NDAA was not as dangerous as it was hyped up to be anyway. Americans over reacting go figure.

He hasn't veto-ed it yet. He also has said he now will not veto it.

Call me crazy, but the potential for that kind of power grab alone is enough for me to worry

The real problem is people react without facts.

For instance, people say street racing is some big problem when you look at the NHTA safety facts the SUV should be banned with alcohol close behind, but you can pick up either of those probably less than 10 miles from your house. Yet, instead of stopping alcohol or banning SUVs (or high speed for that matter), they pay millions to hire cops to pull over young kids in LA claiming they all stole their engines. And you wonder why California is broke?

It's all about popularity and basically buying votes. You wouldn't be very popular for refusing soccer moms their SUVs and you definitely wouldn't be popular for making alcohol illegal and that's been proven. But saying those Mexican hoodlum kids that are making all the boom box noise are going to go away! Now that's popular! (And don't anyone tell me prejudice is dead)

We're all just puppets that are led along with facts and figures to make us nervous and then happy because they say, "we got it covered! Your kids won't get attacked on the interwebs anymore!" That's the same thing they said with making more police patrols in your community, but for some reason its turned into alcohol check points, a la Nazi Germany and guess what, the kids still aren't safe.

Rant over.
