Title: Your Favorite Win Condition

The way you build decks has a lot to say about what kind of player you are. The results are ultimately what you're looking for.

What is your favorite game finishing condition?

1.) First Turn Win!
2.) 50 rounds of unadulterated butchery!
3.) It was a back and forth game, but I took it!
4.) Great decks with an even draw.
5.) Milled my opponent into submission!
6.) Poison counters suck, huh?
7.) I locked my opponent up so much he conceded!
8.) I won because the card I just played said I won!
9.) Losses make me a better player.

Infinite Mys!

My Ally deck drew the entire deck and played everything. At the end, the opponent's library was milled to nothing, I was at insane life, and they had a huge life total (negative though). ^_^

I like a deck with versitility. I try to build decks that mainly:

Can stand up to matches that feature #3

Has the capability to do #1, #7, and #8.

Favorite Win? When you have no cards in your deck are at one life 9 posion counters  and opponent's darksteel reactor lets them win next turn. Then you pull an alpha strike with the last card Master Warcraft

(That was a major win for the Flanking deck.)

An all out assualt designed to kill your opponent in one turn.

(34 damage in the first strike phase another 34 in the main damage phase in that game if your curious)

I'm a huge fan of making decks revolving around 2,6(recently),7(most known for) and 8, but I've found that after a while 2,7, and 8 stop being fun even for me.

6 is still fun because my infect deck is made entirely out of type II(standard) commons. Winning with a deck that cost under $10 to make (less than an intro deck) always makes me happy of my accomplishment, since there were many cards I own that I left out due to rarity alone.

My favorite win condition is a close finish. I don't even care if who wins if it was down to the wire.  Some of my favorite matches actually ended with me a turn from victory. So I guess I'd pick 9 if limited to the list.

My best games have either been really close or draw 4+ player games. One on one I like to make opponents concede. He can keep playing, but there won't be a point. Playing a 14 player Empire game can be great, but there is never a draw. Pestilence was my card of choice for that era (can't win, I'll take you all out!)

I've always been able to get locks going fast, but I've always been weak to discard decks. I'm a fan of land destruction and graveyard removal, which is why although I like the Eldrazi they work well against my strategies. So Land destruction or land control and milling.

The big problem was that they didn't reprint Sinkhole or Demonic Horde.

Unleashed furry where I leave only a chared remain for their family to identify. Constant onslaught of damage every turn as if i were having a childish tantrum who didn't get the toy that I really didn't want.

I like the games that are really close the most, they tend to be the most fun, however I like to make my decks around #8, but end making most mine #7.

Okay, I understand (and thoroughly enjoy) the concepts of dark elves... and I know what the Sith are... but care to explain to me, Jester, what exactly 'power lesbians' are? The thought is intriguing yet scary all the same...

...and, uh, I guess my answer to the thread question would be #1.

You mean my narrator?

I have no narrator. I am merely an invisible idea, and an idea is stronger than a man. I'm like a f***in force o' nature, baby!

I like #3. In my opinion games where momentum keeps shifting are more exciting than just one-sided wins or losses.

I like games where all the players can play with fun.

I don't like to lock my opponent. There's no game.

I don't like turn 1 ( or two)  win, where's the fun? I have not played too!!

Games I like most are when there are balancing forces on the field, you are risking to lose, and at last you win.

So point 3 is my choice.

It's funny how long running players will make decks that are purposefully weak with good foundations so they can test out a concept and have fun.

I did have a friend that I played with all the time and he would beat me left and right and then one day he said, "I'm doing so well I think I'll play a tournament." He wanted to make sure his deck could win so he had me make a deck out of his extras. He didn't win a single game. We constructed a new deck that helped him come in top 10. He later went on to be really good competitively, but we always still played fun decks one on one and laugh about his first tournament pre-experience.
