The National Defense Authorization Act passed the senate with a 93-7 vote.

It unfortunately looks like it will pass the house as well.

Obama has said he might veto it.

Even with a veto with 93 votes behind it there is a high chance the veto could be overriden.

I am fearful at the moment, Such a bill would effectively destroy the rights Americians have fought for since this country's conception. And while I am confidant the Supreme Court would find it unconstitutional, they have also said that against the patriot act, Japanese Internment camps (which they allowed by the way), and Guantonomo. Very effective. In the words of our 7th president Andrew Jackson

"Marshall has made his ruling. Now let him enforce it."

If things go south, I'm either non-violently protesting, rebeling if it affects someone I know, or moving out of the country, being an expatriot

Its just media hype to make you overlook the real issues in America. It is not as dangerous as it seems. A corrupt and over powered government is scary.

Which one Krowbar SOPA or NDAA or both? Consider this though both bills were attempted to be worked out behind locked doors and sneaked through into law.

If worse comes to worse, you can all come to Canada; it's not like we don't have room. We're the second largest country in the world, but we have fewer people living here than in all of California... plus, you can get away with pretty much anything.

Eh, on second thought, the Phillipines is probably better. Cheap guns, cheaper porn; one of my best friends is from the Phillipines. He's got nothing but good things to say about the place...

...except the smell, that is.

Can't drive there though. Canada is only six to seven hours away.
