if i put a splinter twin on
Ovinomancer
does the "When Ovinomancer comes into play, return three basic lands you control to owner's hand " happen when the token is created? I really want to ignore it and make a sheep deck.

the short answer, yes. When you make a copy of something, it see's itself enter as the copy thus triggering all enter the battlefield effects. It would ignore any casting effects since the spell/effect used to make the copy wasn't the named spell.

Just to clarify, the reason this happens is because the copy has all of the text on the original card, including all etb, ltb, activated and triggered abilities!

You can always use something like Fastbond though.
Pay 3 life to destroy a creature.
