1/1 if a creature with with regenerate gets a -2/-2 can it regenerate from thats or does it go to the graveyard?

you can try to regen it but it won't do much, if a creature dies because its toughness goes below 1 because of a negative effect, such as a -2/-2 counter. Even when you regan it, it will still have the counter so toughness will still be below 0. and since the creature doesn't leave play, same will apply to an effect such as infect.
so to answer the question it goes to the grave
