Title: Fastest color?

This isn't to get a definite answer and everyone else will be wrong, but to see what other people think: which color is the fastest?

Brown (artifacts/colorless) is not in this race.

I ask this because I have a black deck that can produce obscene amounts of mana (soon it will do even more) but then I think of green and it's elves and mana filtering. However green often depends on big expensive creatures, where as red is lightning (no pun intended) fast with its fast damage, but speaking of small and fast, there is a reason that they call the deck type "white weenie". This is interesting because I can't think of any mono white mana acceleration off the top of my head (examples to fill this absence will be appreciated) while blue which is usually in my head stalling and locking has high tide.

So how should we define fast? Playing the whole deck? Winning? Damage? Mana?

Land tax, weathered wayfarer, gift of estates, knight of the white orchid, path to exile, tithe, fetchlands, kor cartographer, creatures with plainscycling! Safewright quest?! Balance, balancing act, equipoise, limited resources, restore balance! (While those last few arnt actually acceleration they can even out the playing field quite a bit!)

What do you mean fastest color? Fastest color to bring out big critters or fastest color to finish the game?

That was what I asked in the last sentence. I've seen many people ask "what is the 'best' color in magic" which is really impossible to define due to each choice growing with each set, ruling changings, and the all important "depends what you are trying to do" question.

So far, we have a vote for white! Who else wants to stand up and make their stand for the color of their choice?

Chalk a vote up for green—one of the fastest colors to ramp up mana with; plus it has a lot of huge creatures in it, as well as creatures with trample and the few 'super tramplers', as they've come to be known. Not to mention that it can also cover the entire spectrum of colors with just a few cards, namely Prismatic Omen and Channel the Suns.

All of the colors have speed or acceleration in some form or capacity. I'd say if you're just looking to win the game, black or green is probably the best bet, as channel and dark ritual open the floodgates for so many quick wins.

More reliably though, red is probably the best for quick-kills, with all those direct damage spells and creatures with haste.

When we're talking speed, I'd say white and blue are probably on the lower end of the spectrum. Sure, there are the "white weenie" decks, and "balance" style effects, but white focuses a lot on delaying (life gain, "holy day" and "silence" style effects), and simply shutting out the opponent with various control. That's even more true for Blue, which sometimes deliberately grinds the game down to an almost complete halt in order to win or force a concede.

I'm voting Green... When you say speed in Magic, you might as well say Green... That's how much green is associated with speed...

Green has the most cost effective creatures (along with white) it also has cheap mana ramp (wild growth) and very cheap powerful powerful buffs (giant growth anyone?).  In this way green is the fastest.

Fastest mana, Green. Some consideration to colorless thanks to the Locus lands, Everflowing Chalice, Sol Ring, the Dynamo, etc...

Fastest women. Red (e.g. Jaya, Chandra... you know they'll go all the way on the first date).

Fastest to make your opponent punch you in the face, Blue.

Even though overall blue is the fastest color to make someone punch you in the face, stall rebel decks are the best at it.  (When you end up shuffling you library three times a turn, get ready to duck)

In my opinion, fastest means both more damage and fastest winning.

I usually play white in a defensive way. When defences are set, I start to be offensive. So my white decks are not  too fast.

Blue:  I need to wait to play cards, in order to keep mana free for counterspells. So, about the same speed of white decks.

Black: fairly good, a mix of destruction and power, but not surprisingly fast. Sometime happens a turn 3/4 win, but it's luck.

Red: Fast. 3 mana are enough to win at turn 4/5. Really fast, but not much fun, due to lack of strategies ( in my decks ). Just keep playing the cards you draw.

Green: Fast. Lots of mana, lots of creatures and ways to make them bigger. A couple of my strongest decks are green.

Multicolor: Sometimes, surprisingly fast.  Allies, Slivers, creatures with infect, creatures with exalted.... if you spend some money on lands, they're good.

So, my personal opinion:

Fastest: Red.
Second place: Green.
Third place, but with A LOT more fun: multicolor.

It's black IMO...dark ritual is dark, evil, and simply in a word...bitchin...Two dark rituals, a phyrexian crusader and a lightning grieves will equal...well just ask anyone who was on the recieving end...and I SWEAR TO CTHULU if you make a sex joke about the recieving end part, I promise you I will...

Christmas is just a marketing scheme. Cthulhu is actually what you get when you breed a bird with an octopus. We could combine Christmas and Cthulhu. It would make the world a stranger place, and as everyone knows, stranger >=Darmanitan.

Also, the slowest color is Blue. The fastest could be debated.
