When playing Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited it's easy to see why some cards got let go before Revised, but some cards really didn't make sense for why they were offed or a mechanic was never reused.
False Orders is a perfect example.
Simply put, False Orders allowed you to choose how one of your opponent's creatures blocked. Being a one shot card it wasn't all that powerful and in the end the defender could still choose to block with other creatures as well. Back then banding was used widely as well and makes even less reason why this card never made a return.
Instead, red the effective ability of one red for target creature to be unable to block. Infinitely less usable in the long run.
What is really strange is that not only did False Orders never see Revised, it never saw a reprint. Almost as if it was too powerful to see continued play. While cards like Lure became popular, which did an even more epic version.
Personally, I would like to see this mechanic as a creature ability as well.

It is a cool mechanic, and not overpowered, so yeah I would like to see this too.
