Yeah, how many black decks can you really make though, four seems like enough to me.

Actually not really, the card leaves you very vunerable to any other form of attack, on top it eliminates any creature abilities you might need.  Most decks can deal with the essence way to easily, simply by attacking with flyers.  Yes it seems powerful, but it really relies on speed.

With the other better 6 cost creatures, Essence of the Wild will probably be discarded.

Endless ranks of the dead seems too good to me.

I might use escence in a fungus deck only after I have enough fungus to make insane tokens

This set is so freaking foriegn to me. Never have I seen a core set with non basic lands of conjoining colors in a block whose first set has non basic lands of the opposing colors. Fetch lands were one thing, this is something on its own level of awesome to me.

I do agree with Gauricult. The most powerful preferred cards are coming out of both black and white.

I do think that U/W Planeswalker control is going to stay in the top ranks.

B/R Vampire Aggro will be insane. Mono Blue mill may be a possibility, though I don't think it will be great.

Werewolves Looks AMAZING, and may become the new favorite underdog (no pun intended).

Zombies I feel like they are missing something vital and not sure why. Maybe due to the last time I saw Zombies it was during Onslaught and they were playing on a level never seen before.

Personally, I am considering a Dark Boros deck build.

Turbine, I think if they had Intimidate (Fear) or some kind of landwalking I think that would fill the void.

Would intimidate matter that much when the two colors most played are going to be Black and White.

I think in a monochomatic universe where the only opposing force has protection from what I'm attacking with, but my attacker has Intimidate allowing it to walk right through it, then yes, Intimidate works nicely.  You're a combo guy!  Think combo!

Besides, it would be better than nothing.

I used to always laugh that some creature would have Fear and my opponent had a Knight with protection from black and the knight is still too afraid to block it.  Buddy, block it, it isn't going to hurt you!  lol

yeah but the essence does make your zombie tokens huge. i luckily pulled all those cards in my booster box. Literally i got every land (plus the ability ones) and some multiples, that list there, a garruk, and every flip card. It was a pretty lucky box, along with the grimoire as well. I love the grimoire.
