Title: what would you use prototype portal to copy

I find my self puzzled yet amazed at how use full prototype portal is.

im still pretty new to MTG so i dont know many cards.
out of the cards i do have these are the ones i would copy:

1.caged sun
2.contagion clasp
3.another prototype portal
4.signal pest
5.kite shield

if you have any idea please share them

I've recently become a fan of Mizzium transreliquat as a artifact copier over sculpting steel or phyrexian metamorph, the only obvious drawback being that you have to be playing UR which isn't my most common color. But when the new UR planeswalker hits that might change...

But I've seen people prototype Platinum angels and Emperions (which is pretty costly, I don't suggest it unless you've acuired infinite mana), I thouroughly like imprinting myr galavanizer. It sets you up for inifinite mana as well as pumps your myrs.

In one frankly absurd game a friend of mine had two portals out.

One was imprinted with Seat of the Synod

The other had Voltaic Key

I had to slap him down for uttering the phrase 'Voltaic Key Token'

You can always Portal the Master of Etherium. I have this in a deck along with Followed Footsteps.

Quick, and they get real big, real fast.

Steel Overseer with Tezzeret the Seeker's first ability and make an army of beefed up beat-sticks.

Also Coat of Arms for some crazy fun.

Etched Champion for untouchable hitters.

Contagion Engine for laughs.

And Darksteel Juggernaut for kicks.

I think you posted most of those too Mechanist. I don't know, prototype portal is too big of a target, and if you lose it, you've just exiled the best artifact that was in your hand. I'd almost just suggest using something else. Its no different than panoptic mirror. Once somethings imprinted on that, it doesn't last long.

i use ageis angel to fix that problem if its going to be a target.
so why not make it indestructible
