Title: Scars of Mirrodin Block Review (Not Revue this Time)

Once again I'm back to review a block to start

Favorite Common: Assualt Strobe Double Strike Inexpensive and useful in many combos.

Favorite Uncommon: Toss up between mental mistep or shrine of burning rage. Emergency counterspells I always like, but the SoBR can build up insanely fast.

Favorite Rare: For my Timmy Side: Green Sun's Zenith searching is always good. For my Johnny Side: Thopter Assembly its just oozing with potential, beyond the time sieves combo.

Favorite Mythic: Blightsteel one swing and victory can be yours. I'll make it infinite with prototype portal yet.

Flavor Grade:B-. As a long time magic player I liked the return to Phrexia as the villian, but this feels less than kosher. (If Karn was planeswalking why not have Scars of Lorwyn, Scars of Kamigawa, or Scars of Ravnica. Cold heartless moneygrubbing if that happens)

Utility Grade C-. I don't think many cards will see much out of standard with a few notable exceptions (prototype portal, elesh norn, blightsteel, the walkers, and the swords) The Phrexian cards were dissapointing.

Block Grade C: Not stelar, not too bad playable and enough ooh and ahh cards to make me go back for a few more packs, but its no timespiral or onslaught block.

Yes, I've always been a fan of Phryxia, but sorely disappointed in, your appropriately well used word, utility.

As a race I found it hard to see them winning anything with all those Myr guys in combos left and right.

I gotta say it's a review...but that's about it...but then again I'm biased...so in regards to your Elesh related judgement I just gotta say...go to hell...but other than that good review...

not much out of standard. Elesh Norn however will replace all crovax ascendent hero EDHs

@jester I'm saying Elesh will see play beyond standard. I thought you approved of her zombie like charms and feminie wiles

I think she should get a new pair a sunglass 'cause those things could pick up cable!
