Leyline of the Void + Helm of Obediance is an infinite cycle.

Mindcrank + Leyline of void + Bloodtithe is a one time 3 damage and 3 cards.

It's easy.  Helm says "Put the top card of target opponent's library into his or her graveyard.
Continue doing this until you have put X cards or a creature card into
that graveyard, whichever occurs first."

Since Leyline prevents things from going to the graveyard then the effect never triggers and it just empties out the library.

Someone correct me, but since you never hit X cards or a creature the effect becomes infinite and the game ends in a draw.

Mind Crank just says put the top 3 cards into the graveyard and Leyline simply corrects it by saying, no, exile them instead.

Darth-you are correct except for one thing, the game doesn't end in a draw, it goes until there are no cards left in library at which time it stops, and the game moves on.  and then when your opponent trys to draw from an empty library they lose

gericault5 - but since the effect never resolves from the Helm then you're basically stuck in the effect right?  You can't move out of the effect because X or a creature will never hit the graveyard because it is redirected out of play first.  It will keep looking for the top card of the library.  Does it basically fizzle when there are no cards left in the library and allow you to move on in the turn?

This is kinda the whole reason I would never use the combo, even though I like it, is because I can just hear my opponent calling the judge over even before he started flipping his library and every judge would rule it differently.

I know I just repeated what you said.  I think of it as clarity so I can know "why" the rule was judged the way it was.

The effect does 'as much as it can' - if you run out of cards in the library then it 'gives up' and finishes resolving.

Personally, I view Zark as the Wise Judge of this site and Gericault as the Voice of Reason...

Gericault does not always show reason.

Reminds me, I still haven't gotten around to taking the actual Judge exam... must add that to my to do list again.

Please do!  I'll need you to sign off on that combo after I start using it at retro tourneys!  I could get that off without a hitch all-day-long!
