My friend says he sees no potential but I think this is a Mistake by Wizards of the Coast AGAIN!

With Jace's Erasure out on the Battlefield, tou can take 40 cards off the top of their deck with his ultimate!

GEE-SUS!

I agree with wolfs friend I don't see this being a threat at this time. Yes it goes well with jaces erasure but not that well.and other then that there isn't a lot of support. However if innstrand does end up being graveyard themed the self mill can be huge advantage

That ultimate can kick ass, observe:

not to mention a card and counter each turn

Lin sorry I was refering to standard it does have a place in other formats frankly I like the idea of his 0 ability and rings of brighthearth mill 20 for 2 mana each turn sounds good

But in standard the only place he has is in a mill deck and if he.s in there how often are you really going to consider using his +1 or ultimate ability. Also take into account now that cawblade is dead other decks will be steping up and with the impressive goblins and vamps coming out its looking like aggro will be taking the lead in that. And jace can't stand next to aggro. So would you pay 5 mana to draw a card and mill 1 or 5 to mill 10. Five for 10 seems like the better deal in which case traumtize is the better option

People are only looking at what he can do RIGHT now. He will obviously be better in the Fall expansion. It has already been confirmed that Flashback is a mechanic in the set. I think that it is fair to assume that Innistrad will be a graveyard themed set. That said, Jace's +1 would be targeting yourself, not your opponent, so it will be much better. Milling yourself for ten seems a bit drastic, but could work. I expect some reprints from Future Sight to be in Innistrad. Bridge from Below and Bitter Ordeal, maybe. Anyways, people are only looking at what he does, not what he can do.

think about this, if he just survives 4 turns of using his first ability, he's made up his cost, plus four mill.

If he survives four turns of using his second ability, the opponent has around ten cards left.

Has the Eldrazi block left Standard, or is leaving Standard with M12 or is it staying around? I haven't played in a long time.

Zendikar and m11 leave in oct with innstrand.

As for jace do you really think he'll stay around for 4 turns in an agrro enviroment

too overpowered... with blue's control themed decks... mill is now more viable finisher more than ever...

In standard that is...

No actually,
m10 was around until scars came out im pretty sure.

i can remember that there was the only time in magic that 2 core sets were in standard at the same time - m11 and m10

wizards changed it a few years ago that there will only be 1 rotation a year.  which will be oct.  so both m11 and m12 will be legal for a few months
