Which do you like better? Control Decks or Burn Decks?

Mine: Burn Decks (By 1/36 of an inch)

Control decks, especially burn control.

Split between the two, maybe burn control...  what i don't like about burn decks is that it is unreliable... once the burn spells run out, it's over... though Chandra makes it better but other than that, it's not very effective when it comes to long games... while control deck's early game is just too unreliable...

against each other, it depends if burn decks can finish off control decks early, after that it's control...

Counterspells run out too. I do prefer the challenge of staving off the fiery onslaught until the gas gauge is pointing at E for the pyromaniac.

In both cases, card advantage is very important, reycelable burn spells are important, as are cantrip counterspells.

what Blue control ,or generally control decks, have that red doesn't or only has a few of is card draw... This gives Blue an instant filtering of deck so that it will get its key cards while red once burn spells run out and only lands appears, nothing you can do about it... this also makes the Pyromancer Ascension deck so much more powerful than the normal burn deck...

You have to be creative with burn decks, fireballs allows you to take advantage of alot of mana, and so does things like hammer of bogardan, this is how red usally gets its card advantage, as opposed to actual drawing, neither deck is particulary better than the other

well blue is much better in the card advantage category... red is much better in the speed category...

Both kinda fail. Burn fails less, so gotta give up to burn for being the less crappy of the two.

I don't know what your talking about, first off control deck is one of the vaguest catagories there is, and secondly burn decks are really powerful speed decks (usally out done by life gain though).

I'd go with burn, and because most of your spells will be cheap you can include things like jaydamene tome enabling you to draw some more cards. Draw artifacts are just as important in both kind of decks. But I agree a UR Burn Control deck is one of the best kinds out there, I know its one of my favorite decks, panoptic mirrors unsummons, bolts, counterspells its a fun deck.

No, not UR just R burn control, you control the board with burn, who would mix red and blue, that is so stupid, there aren't any good lands for it or anything

In reality, both are good decks.  I find people complain about either in the card advantage department which really isn't the fault of the deck, but the builder.  The faster you get the cards, the faster the deck works and the better it does either in the short or long game.

Otherwise the concensus is the same Control has to take a little bit of a beating before it slams the door shut and tells the opponenent it's over, while red hits the ground running and burns itself out.

How many "good" lands do you need? You get your set of multi's in there and keep the colored casting cost to two maximum and you should be fine.

Steam vents and Shivan Reef are solid as well

Burn is the better of the two it runs out fast but can make the win before blue gets going.  Burn then has the advantage of time you can rebuild yourself will UC is buildingespecially since they can't do anything without you playing and then, with the right low cost mana red spells, you can play multiple burn in a turn compared to the limited counters.  Bluecontrols other weakness is since it goes more long term it relies on bigger creatures to win, which costs them  counter mana, well played act of treasons or threatens can win you the game at that point.

no doubt Burn decks is fast but once that power runs out, it's gone... and that's the reason why life gain decks can counter that speed...

That is why burn decks have cards like Reverberate, Ball Lightining, and Hammer or Bogardan so you can get the job done quickly BEFORE you run out of spells

Ball Lightning

Reverberate

Hammer of Bogardan
