Looking at the current Ally listings and think that the way things sit mono blue may actually be strong enough to make a stand for once in a very long long time.

Cards currently in use for the standard mill deck consist of:

  • Traumatize
  • Twincast
  • Tomescour
  • Hedron Crab (Fetch lands are still good to use even in a mono colored deck, Expecially for this creature. Just be carefull in construction and how you play your cards)
  • Archive Trap
  • Ponder
Some additional cards that are already out  in Zendikar and coming from Worldwake would keep the strength of this style intake:

  • Halimar Excavator
  • Jwari Shapeshifter
  • Clone
  • Umara Raptor
  • Sea Gate Loremaster
Not sure if I will be seeing the turn 3-5 kill with it but its a start. There will still be a strong structural foundation for mill decks when block takes over. Ally cards will fill in a lot of the void and also give it a much stonger creature base than what i see in my area (which only consist of a play set of Hedron Crab and nothing else).

Halimar Excavator will set the mode for the ally mill. Played along side of Jwari Shapeshifter (This card will make or break an Ally deck) any time an ally hits the field the abilities will stack milling for 1,4,6,8, ect. cards. Clone is an additional card to add in (though it has a high mana cost in comparison (except that of traumatize) it can become an ally or another hedron crab. Umara Raptor aiding in flying defense or a potentially strong attacker (again Jwari Shapeshifter will help). Sea Gate Loremaster is just a profound card idea for a deck of this type. Low mana curves means that you tend to play out your hand somewhat fast. The Sea gate Loremaster will help you gain a stronger footing and card potential (In the end options is what wins a high level game, THIS GIVES YOU OPTIONS).

Gericault5 I hope you appreciate this. I know you said you would like a Blue/White but this is just what I see at the moment. Mill/Beatdown/Card Draw and not so much control. True you can really do some control with the two, but this works for me at the moment.

Not bad ghost i think you got it right on the head, only thing I would add is Living tsunami a 4/4 flyer for 4, that guarntees landfall for the hendron.

Since you offered your ideas here are mine that I'm considering

  • 4 Halimar Excuvator   -miller anytime I put a creature out
  • 4 Jwari shapeshifter   -copy any of my creatures
  • 3 ondu cleric   -lifegain
  • 3 Hada Freeblade  -offensive considering replacing with kazandu blademaster
  • 2 talus paladin  -gives all my creatues lifelink migtht end up replacing him with wall of denial

  • 2 traumatize  -milling card
  • 2 jace beleran   -card draw, and milling if ultimate hits
  • 3 archive trap   -mill for 13 great target for twincast
  • 4 path to exile   -removal and trigger for archive, accl if played againest my own
  • 3 join the ranks  -each ally card triggers twice when played
  • 4 twincast  -highly flexible card
  • 3 tomescour  -1 mana mill card nice twincast target
  • 4 unsummon  -bounce my allys to play their abilitys again
As I am putting this togetherI am debating about how much do i want to go UW ally mill, black still offers the best mill options available in standard.  I am thinking about moving more into control, add a few more bounce and some control spells in place of the mill.  any suggestions

Liking it. Currently one of the cards that help mill at this time is Mind Funeral and is also why the current mill decks are splicing white into a mainly blue/black deck. This construct is mainly White/Blue taking out the use of black, leaving two of the really horrible cards out (Haunting Echoes, and Ex..exterpate?whatever it's called. Black cost one black mana....you know what i am talking about.).

The only thing that will really hurt you by going this rought are the dredge decks since it is the current and i think the only true grave deck at the moment. They won't be around for to much longer.

The new Jace is by far the more devastating of all for mill and also gives you not only card draw but bounce. I would seriously consider finding a way to use ponder in this. Decks tend to slow down after a while and this would help stack you and add speed all in one.

Love the path with archive combo. Yeah Ill give you a land in order to mill for 13 twin cast and mill for  26 cards. Will only cost you WUU. Evil just Evil. Easily my favorite piece to this deck.

I am very suprised that you are opting to not play the hedron crabs. Not ally cards but easily a blocker with the additional mill capability. Using Misty rainforest and arid mesa would help to thin your deck out (might not even need to consider the ponder) and also give you the double mill capabilities with the crab. Easy double bang for your buck. To much mill though, you are looking for more control.

Oblivion ring, and Pacifism (hate this now they have the other two) could easily be used to give you an edge. Day of judgment by far the best if things hit the fan (Sideboard this). I'm telling you that the horde token decks are going to be god aweful and unless your packing some massive blockers/attackers and unfortunately you don't really have the room or capabilities. Focusing hard on this would slow you down past the point you need to finish off the library.

By far the token decks that i have been seeing potential to make are ungodly and half of the worldwake spoiler is not even out. It really does scare me.

Key thing i can really suggest is to go for speed. Best kill i found from the past mill was a third turn kill with the blue/black/white.
