So, welcome to another edition of It had to be asked, the question this time being: What is your favorite land, and why do ya love it so much?

My personal fave is Inkmoth Nexus, It's a threat and a land!!!!! I think it's the first time I loved a card for sheer playability over flavor...well the artwork's kinda meh....so yeah....wow I'm shalllow

I like the Deserted Temple. It works well in the cabal coffers combo as well as others and just looks cool. lol

i like forests... if we're talking sheer playability here... forest is your land... forests lead to Birds of Paradise... birds of paradise produces any kind of mana so, yeah... forest!

Mishra's Factory.
It's got it all.
It will add Mana to your Mana Pool (albeit colorless)
It can become a 2/2 for only 1 mana (how's that for a curve!)
It can pump up its own kind (Assembly Worker) for +1/+1.

It fits in any deck.  Add in combos like Mind Bend and it can multi-task.

I believe Shakii has trumped us all when it comes to lands. Kudos.

Tectonic Edge. I'm a "destroy every permanent" kinda player, so when I can forcibly keep you either basic or below 4 lands in DyingJester's case, I have your crap like "Inkmoth" cough cough down for the count.

Still gotta go with the forest...it is shear elegance and simplicity in the form of a basic land.

Why didn't High Market let you sacrifice artifacts and lands?  I don't get that. lol

Basic lands are for noobs! lol

Okay, then from now on your no longer allowed to build any deck requiring basic lands.

but in speaking of THE best...

mutavault,
much better than mishra's factory, as it can be used in competetive legacy merfolk decks...

ever get swung at by an unblockable 5/5 mutavault on like turn 4? it sucks... XD

Hey... thanks for the idea Morbid. :) I'll have to get those into my Merfolk deck!

And for me... I really like:

I just love unblockable stuff. :)

I like mutavault and I was glad that they kept the Locus theme coming, slowly. . .

Plus basic lands are less vurnerable than non-basic lands...

Let me sight an example...

Tectonic Edge can destroy non-basic lands but not basic lands... need i say more?

Ok, if you insist...

Wasteland can destroy non-basic but not basic lands...

Strip Mine can destroy both...

Dust bowl?

And i'm just sighting the most commonly used land destruction cards here....

Then you'll start wishing that you hand some non-basic lands

@scotty

competitive legacy merfolk decks usually use mishra's factory too, as it can also boost up your mutavaults since mutavault is every creature type. :D

but usually only 1 copy of mishra's factory

More reason why I love Tectonic Edge. Best land ever. Second best is Mystifying Maze.
