What are the best card sleeves to use for decks that see heavy play?  Please name the brand, and possibly the best/cheapest place to buy them.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!

Get the actually MTG sponsored sleeves.

My friend got some MTG sleeves with Black Lotus on them, a pack of 80 for $10.00.
Its a much better deal than buying some regular sleeves that you would find at Walmart, a pack of 50 for $5.00.

I suggest using sleeves that has something to do with the concept of your deck.

Ex: my friend , use sleeves that has a drawing of a dragon on the back of the sleeve for his dragon deck..

My other friend, uses vampire sleeves for his vampire deck.

You can find these type of sleeves in your local hobby shop for just twice or thrice the price of regular sleeves (sleeves without drawing, just plain colors on its back).

If you are knew to the game or to the use of sleeves all I will tell you is to try different brands. Everyone uses different types in the end for different reasons.

Me I use Ultra Pro with the texured backing mono color. Easier for me to shuffle my cards personally. I have sleeves with pics but they tend to not last long with me. I am very hard on my toys lol.

Ultra pro or Dragonskins sleeves can be found on eBay (or some of the online retailers) and they hold up well. I used to use the clears (which seem to be hard to find nowadays) but now prefer the plain black colored ones. The ones with drawings on the back kinda giveaway what color you're playing (if they match the color of your deck) or the theme of your deck. The main reason  I'm now using the plain black ones now is that it makes moving cards from one deck to another easier without having to replace or swap sleeves out.

I recommend buying enough for several decks along with card boxes to protect your decks. Just got a case of Ultra pro metal card vaults in the mail yesterday. Never can have too many boxes or sleeves if you build as many decks as I do.

By the way, I also recommend using a playmat. My local gamestores' tables have a rough texture to them and they really scratch the heck out of cards and sleeves during regular play. You can buy one (for @$10) or make one fairly cheaply from a piece of felt (Walmart's or your local crafts store).

I even have one of my decks (including sideboard) put into hard plastic toploaders for the ultimate in protection. Of course that's the one with the Power Nine and other expensive cards!

It's a bitch to shuffle but they keep the cards (and sleeves) from warping  or getting damaged.

Player's Choice Japanese sleeves, you can't go wrong with those...

My sleeves of choice are the Ultra Pro Deck Protector sleeves, in Matt Black - used to be able to get them in packs of 100 in a deckbox, but my LGS stopped selling them (and I'm not even sure if UltraPro still make them)

Great mix of being sturdy, easy to shuffle, hard wearing, and hard to mark.

You can go to either Coolstuffinc.com or TrollandToad.com for Ultra Pro sleeves. The Artbacks are about 8 bucks a pop, and the only downside is the outrageous S&H. They do not have bad art though.

It realy doesnt matter what sleeves you use, they have to work for you. I use japanese, ultra pro, Dragon, hell even pennie sleeves(Realy not recomended) but the all work for me and many ive been using for a year n a half.

On a similar note i love rook cases. They are just sweat.

You can get creative with a printer and some clear plastic sleeves. It's alot of fun to design your own sleeves.
