Title: A Question

Me and my friend were playing the Phyrexia vs. The Coalition duel decks and I was The Coalition. I got out Rith (Main ability: Whenever Rith deals combat damage you may pay 2 colorless and one forest to bring out 1 saproling token for each premanent that is a color you choose (Red, White, Black, Blue, Green)) and attacked him with it. He had like 17 lands out and 2 creatures. I choose the color Black and paid the 3 mana to get the saproling tokens. He is more experienced at Magic than I am but he said that I only get 2 saproling tokens for the creatures that were black (which was 2). I told him that he had like 17 Swamps out and that they were permenants but he said that mana is colorless and that I still only 2 saprolings. We argued about it but it the end I just gave up. Did I get screwed over? Was I supposed to have 19 saprolings instead of 2? HELP!

A land is a colorless permanent. Your friend was correct.

Yeah, that tripped me up the first time it came up in my game.

Yeah...I guess it would be kinda cheap to have 19 saprolings each turn.

If this is true, my friend owes me back my $10 and a Praetor.
