Hi everyone just joined to say my thoughts on this card. Sorry if i'm not doing this properly but it's my first time posting here
Any pointers on posting protocol are esteemed and encouraged. Please scorn as you see fit :)

I saw this card and i would like your opinion on it. Cause it seems to break whole game mechanics
Like...

Melira , Sylvok Outcast and ANYTHING with persist and say...goblin bombardment or altar of dementia or anything that sacs for anything
Doesn't her ability make persist return with no counters?

I don't think so. Here's my reasoning: A creature with persist comes into play WITH the counters already on them. From what I understand of Melira is that creatures that are already out cannot have -1/-1 counters put on them. But, if they hit the battlefield with the counters already there, she'll have no effect. Does that make sense?

Oh, and welcome to the board. :)

Sorry Scotty, but they come back without counters.

When a creature comes into play with a counter on it, it is considered to have the counter "placed" on it.  Here's the relevant rule

121.6. If a spell or ability refers to a counter being “placed” on a permanent, it means putting a counter on that permanent while it’s on the battlefield, or that permanent entering the battlefield with a counter on it as the result of a replacement effect

Melira will prevent the counter from being "placed" on the presisted creature.  so no counter

They think but overall it doesn't matter wizards is a business and the money is in standard so they only care about those interactions. It would cost to much to research every possibility a card can interact with
Besides melira is only a 2/2 so she is subject to every form of removal so she won't stay in play for that long

Just add Phyrexian Unlife and you're unstoppable.

And in response to the "easy to remove" problem, an Asceticism would work great, as it does give it troll shroud and a cheap regenerate cost. Throw in a few Withstand Death to get past Wrath Of God, and you should have a pretty solid deck.

Yeah, I didn't look it up or anything. That's why I said "I don't think so." ;) I was just reading the cards. Good catch StoneDevil. I'm sure it will be abused to hell. :)
