So in these challenge's we have dealt with mechanics, a format, and creature tribal.  I was thinking about a deck based around a card but there are a few of those floating around.  So decided to go with a deck based on a theme.

Now some of you might remember a few months ago, we built decks based on the 7 Deadly Sins.  For those who don't know or remember here are some links:

http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=1&tid=24053  -  wrath

http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=1&tid=23691  -  lust

http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=1&tid=23124  - envy

http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=1&tid=23261 - greed

So we did the sins, but what about decks based on their opposites, the heavenly virtues

Challenge:  Build a Deck based on one of the 7 Heavenly Virtues

Rules

1)  The 7 Heavenly Virtues are:  Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Forgiveness, Kindness, and Humility

The deck must support the ideal of the virtue chosen.

2)  Like the Sins the Virtues are based on ones own interpertion of them, so please have an explanation of your thoughts behind the deck

3)  Since you will be limited by the theme chosen, There will not be any restrictions to the cards that can be used.  Everything is fair game.

Have fun with this one.

Well, I just finished mine with humility, (found here as always)

I started with humble and humility, then added all the meek cards (easy)
But then the hard part started, I decided to get 1/1 with relitivily humble aspects to them, such as villagers and farmers, and eventually resorting to militia (Eager Cadet, and Volunteer Militia).

And that is how I formed my deck.

charity is easy... all the cards that give your opponent something is charity... like Bazaar trader... or some lifegain cards...

I'm thinking forgiveness and cards that let your opponent return things from their graveyard as well. Maybe a deck making use of exhume combos.

The thing I would see as hard for charity is that you can't do false gifts, throwing people cards that inevitably hurt them is unfair, and not actual charity

Rfemember lin. Definations change over4 time. charity is the opposite of greed. Which is the hoarding of possessions. So charity is the release of those possessions(therefore freeing the soul from material bonds). The for benovlent reasons for others is an adaption that formed later

Can a humility deck be about teaching my opponents humility?( I.E. Counterspell turtling/Elixer of Immortality?)

Dying if thats your take on humility go ahead

As for me... If envy is the desire to have what another has, it's opposite kindness is to share what you have.  So each card in this deck contains the words "each player" whatever I get my opponent gets too, (Look Ma i'm sharing).  The idea is to stall the game until they die from some of my damage or they deck themselves.  As a side challenge all the cards have cmc 4.

Kindness Deck

creatures

  • 4 rumbling slum
Spells

  • 4 Blood Clock
  • 4 Noetic Scales
  • 4 Sands of time
  • 4 Smokestack
  • 4 Umblicous
  • 4 Antagonism
  • 4 Primal order
  • 4 Bend or break
  • 4 Thought of ruin
Lands - 13 mountains, 13 forest

Finally, some time in my hand...

The concept of temperance is moderation in action/thought, restraint... But the deck also needs to win...
Temperance is generally defined by control over excess, so that it has
many such classes, such as abstinence, chastity, modesty, humility,
prudence, self-regulation, and forgiveness and mercy; each of these
involves restraining some impulse, such as sexual desire, vanity, or
anger. so i can do many other virtues with temperance...

First one is the restraint in attacking or from the definition anger, most of us when we see that we have so many creatures will use all of them to attack (if able)... Exalted concept uses restraint and at the same time, uses that concept to win... there are many creatures with this concept, i will explain why i choose these creatures...
This one is easy to build because it is already a deck...

Creatures: (21)
4 Aven Squire - an exalted flyer
4 Noble Hierarch - mini-BoP for exalted
3 Qasali Pridemage - anti-artifact or enchantment
1 Rafiq of the Many - for the double strike
4 Sigiled Knight - sort of a white knight with exalted
4 Giltspire Avenger - this one uses the concept of restraint more than any of the other creatures, creature that lets 1 of your opponent's creature deal damage before doing its thing... plus it has exalted... cool...
1 Frost Titan - great for exalted

Now for the other cards... (14)
4 Aether Vial - I always think that Temperance is synonymous with patience, and this one does its thing with a little patience and good decision making on whether to put a counter on it or not...
2 Basilisk Collar - well, it just goes well with exalted creatures... plus it gains plus points for Sigiled Knight
4 Wrath of God
4 Primal Cocoon

Land: (25)
4 Safe Haven
3 Flooded Strand
3 Windswept Heath
7 Plains
5 Forest
3 Island

will add some more when i'm done with them...
