Aura Gnarlid's effect says creatures with power less than it can't block it.

Can it be blocked by a creature with protection from green if  said creature had lower power than the Aura Gnarlid

nope, protection only applies to targetting, death due to damage (including deathtouch and infect), blocking and enchanting/equipping...

did i miss anything?

It's not the death that is prevented, it is the damage. For example, damnation would be able to destroy creatures with protection from black.

Aura Gnarlid's effect is an gobal effect, therefor protection has nothing to do with it.

Result can`t block.

it can't block aura gnarlid is only because the creature satisfies the condition of the aura gnarlid that it can't be blocked by creature with less power...
