Title: A question of "casualty" (Pun intended)

Hey I was wondering, has anyone else noticed an increase in competiveness within their play groups, even when playing in casual? I remember a couple of years ago when I could play a theme deck fresh out the box and have a good time in a casual game, now I just get owned by someone running a barely toned down version of a tournament deck. R/W Boros and Control being the most common. Am I just being paranoid or is casual starting to become casualty?

Same thing over here. its hard to play a combo deck that builds into a combo because everyone i play with plays tourny decks. its kind of annoying. i blame it on the metagame.:)

my playgroup for magic consists of my 2 friends and I've converted one to the online magic I linked everyone to, because he likes having every card because we have closer matches which him and i enjoy, and I play EDH with another on cockatrice because of how hard it is to build EDH decks. but the one I play EDH with online is insanely more competitive now that he got a bunch of mirrodin cards and such. so no its not just you, people have become a lot more competitive. and now that Infect is out, competitive people I play infect or control, or infect control.
