Wow, those cards that only allow you to play spells during your turn would royally screw a blue deck. Especially a control or counter deck. I didn't know those cards existed!

So...
how would you go about making a sideboard with alot of good blue protection,
but also protection against things like infinite combos, or things like that?

i'd like to make a legacy deck that can handle things like the thopter foundry/sword of the meek combo, and also things like hardcore countering blue decks, and isochron scepter/silence decks

What colors are you looking at. Makes no sense to give you black options if not playing black. What about the mainboard a sideboard needs to work with it so you don't need suggestions that will screw your main, ex you don't need a card that that causes artifacts to cost more if you play staxs. What are some of the cards you got

From what i see, you're trying to counter artifacts combos...
Null rod = no artifacts combos...

Bojestu who shelters all-provides nice backup to vexing shusher and allows you the option of other colors. krosan grip breaks artifact and enchantment combos. cards like city of solitude force them to play on their turn and here are two other options, one I think you will really like

Leyline of Lifeforce: IF leyline of lifeforce is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it in play. Creature spells can't be countered.

Vexing Shusher: Vexing shusher can't be countered. r/g: target spell can't be countered by spells or abilities.

Pride of the Clouds: Pride of the Clouds gets +1/+1 for each other creature in play with flying. Forecast: 2WU, Reveal Pride of the Clouds from your hand: Put a 1/1 white and blue bird token with flying onto the battlefield.

Xantid Swarm: Flying. Whenever Xantid Swarm attacks, defending player can't play spells this turn

For Blue vs Blue lovers:

Last Word: Last Word can't be countered by spells or abilities. Counter target spell.
