Title: The original versions of cards

So, alot of cards with new abilities or effects, tend to originate from older cards with that same ability or a similar one...

for example,
Meliras keepers is very similar to an older card, tatterkite.

Disintegrate and Red Sun's Zenith. Very similar except that Red Sun's gets shuffled back in, but the creature could regenerate...
