I like the new Tezzy. He is like a cross between Sarkon for artifacts, plus, the overpowered March of the machines on a stick. I kinda saw that coming.

I too am intriged by Thrun...

The brass squire will be tons of fun in limited. especally if you pooled an argentum armor at the prerelese.

White weenie quest will make a big comeback soon with more ways to equip.

The sphinx for sure caught my attention. I have been a big fan of them ever since Shards block.

All and all. this standard season is starting to take shape. I only hope the 2012 block will be as multi-colored as Shards was.

Have you noticed that it's almost the same as Darksteel Colossus? I mean in name but almost the same ability... but with infect plus 1 mana for CMC...

In the storys Urza built Karn, in addition, urzas eyes were composed of the might and meek stones (2 halfs of the same thran powerstone), both of which were part of the legacy weapon and contained the soul of a thran named Glacien. At the end of the fight with yawgmouth (invasion cycle) Gerrald removed urzas eyes and put them in Karns chest completing the legacy weapon. In the process Karn gained the collective knowledge of Urza and Glacien (both highly skilled artificers) as well as a spark (which is specilated to be the unascended spark of glacien or perhaps urza's, or maybe they are all the same since urzas spark flaired when the stones became his eyes). As a result of this urza is a part of karn as well as his creater.

Venser was a friend of Karns, in time Spiral, Venser was with Karn when he closed the rift and lost his spark as well as when he through himself into the blind eternitys (assumed to go to Mirroden)

I find it interesting the the character who was there when he got his spark, and another when he lost it are depicated on the same card.

Some are Invasion and masques was good, and I liked oddessy, especially chainers torment. Onslaought was ok until the karona crap,

In terms of the books, Brother's War by Jeff Grubb was an absolutely astounding book.

The second book (where Urza meets Serra) was an utter waste of time. So was Bloodlines.

Skip to the invasion series by Rob King, that was absolutely fantastic too. Anything after that was pretty piss poor though (especially time-spiral). It's part of the reason I like the Urza character so much. I'd recommend anything by Jeff Grubb or Rob King, they truly were literary artists.
