A players casts Show and Tell
He reveals Emrakul
I reveal Duplicant
We both put our creatures on the field. Would Duplicant be able to target Emrakul with the imprint ability? Or must Emrakul be on the battlefield before Duplicant starts to enter play?
My question is, is imprint an "enter the battlefield" trigger? Or is it like an enchantment that needs a legal target prior to hitting the stack?

Unlike other changers such as clone or body double which enter the field as the changed type. Duplicants imprint ability is triggered when it enters play. So dulpicant and emrukel need to be in play for the trigger to occur and since it is an a ability and emrukel doesn't have shroud he is a valid target to imprint
Two answer the second part imprint is typical a triggered ability that occurs after the artifact is in play since it uses the text when and whenever though some imprints are also activated
