no, see they are in fact considered walls, so they are immune to cockatrices and the such, but all walls have defender, and thats why they cant attack, and some can, like dark maze can attack but it only lasts a turn.

Do you really think that Changelings couldn't attack? Things like Shields of Velis Vel would be overpowered then.

Apparently they already changed the rule text of all walls from "Walls can't attack" into Defender...

Now the explanation text for defender clearly states that "This creature can't attack"... Now for the walls that has the old rule text, it will just be the same but not the old ruling for walls... So apparently the ones with defender is the only ones that can't attack... Changelings, which is a wall but doesn't have the Wall's old rule text (obviously) can attack...

EDIT: Or block...

If there are reasons that you would hate changelings, these should be the reasons and it could also be the reason to love changelings...

The Glyph cycle of cards

And many more that i'm so tired to enumerate...

They actually changed the wall thing well before changeling, it was actually for Mistform Ultimus which has a different ability from changeling, though I can't see why. . .

The original Mistform Ultimus was printed back in Onslaught Block, and had the text 'Can attack as though it wasn't a wall'.

The addition of Defender came in Kamigawa block, at the same time they made Legendary a supertype for creatures, as WOTC no longer wanted rules to be attached to creature types.

adun oakensheild is a Human Knight, though there is no formula for the old legends, so you have to look them up.
