I just got back into mtg during scars of mirrodin, but I have no clue what deck type to go with. I have a lot of artifact stuff, and no clue what to build on. If someone could give me some advice on what would play well color-wise, that would be appreciated. Currently I'm considering a green/black build with the infect artifact creatures and the proliferate keyword, but throwing everything with just those keywords in a deck seems...noobish.

For infect I personally prefer UG. The green adds some pumps for extra counters. As well as the infect creatures while the blue gives you things like distortion stike asand bounce so the path to the opponent is clear as well as counters to deal with threats to you. As for profilrate I don't like it with infect you don't get enough of an impact to give up the slots that are bested suited for control or pump

Hmmm... I may try a U/B/G combination then. Removal mixed with infect may win me the game in the long run, thanks.

I actually think that GB Infect is better. Use cards like Livewire Lash with pump like Vines of the Vastwood and Giant Growth. Infect is too fast to have to worry about removing their creatures.

All the cards you mentioned are in my UG infect so I'm not seeing the superiority of black over blue in this case.  and despite its speed you still do need to have removal.  Infect doesn't do anything if it doesn;t connect with the player,  thats why I prefer U to B, 1 distortaion strike guarntees my infect gets through at least 2 times, that 1 mana counter any spell that targets your permants keeps removal away as does mana leak and such.  simple bounce spells like unsummon and such keep the treats away from me.  I just don't see the benefits of black other then additional infect cards.  But my deck is already done its up to jester to decide his

I found a great mono green infect deck at Star City Games.

My favorite decks that are really hard to beat are Teeth of the Predator(THE HARDEST) and Morningtide Treefolk Shamanism. These are some of the greatest pre builts in my opinion. Teeth of the Predator has a Vigor. and The Treefolk Shamanism has alot of kin ship, and a card that lets you play any treefolk or shaman card (only if you just drew it AKA:Kinship ability

The Lorwyn block cycled out with Zendikar, and the planeswalker's decks only have some cards in Standard. He was talking about SoM mostly also. . .

The Elixir of Immortality doesn't seem effective. I would suggest putting in Distortion Strike instead.

I agree with turbine about the distortion strike, though I think you should keep the elixir as it has a varity of uses lifegain, mill prevention, a way to get back your dead creatures and counterspells.

If anything should go I'm thinking the clasp should go.  You will need to pay 8 mana for the same effect a single distortion strike can do.  There are alot better options for that 8 mana.

As for the sideboard, maybe turn aside for alot of removal.  Some pump to do some more damage especially againest weenies and burn
