You know Turbine not every deck needs to have a basis
I find that if I build a deck off of a basis it turns out worse than if I build a deck like this

I have always had more luck with an aggro or whatever deck, versus just throwing cards together. That is my opinion though.

I see no problem with your way and have no qualms about that
It is easier to make them with a specific purpose but i just find that they don't work as well for me.

why the illusionist, since your not playing standard there are better ways to fix your mana if thats the problem.  also brainbite while the draw is nice as is the ability to discard a land you are better playing the 3 extra mana on something else and going with duress

His mana base looks fine. I would replace the Illusionist with some more control, something like Mana Leak.

your right thinking back the only reason i put the illusionist in is because i didnt have the nonbasic land and always got mana screwed...i was questioning the brainbite as well and will look for a replacement for both that fits my style of play

thanks guys :)

oh and yah not only do i not play standard (im 14 and about two hours away from the closest place for tournaments) but me and my friend play with 40 card decks...or used to now that we are in high school we agreed to go to 60 because every1 else plays 60...they r no good at the game most people just throw random cards together the only person who ever beats us spends about $50 on each of his decks and gets a new one every two weeks...i try to spend around $20 unless i get it for my birthday or something...the reason why i am making this deck is i have nico bolas planeswalker and i didnt wanna have him out of a deck because he is very expensive

It was a joke. . .if the deck was from a serious player, it would definitely have a lot more expensive cards. I tend to buy cheap decks, but be very careful with my money. My Ally deck is mainly composed of rares from trading a foil for a normal Verdant Catacombs (that I got from a draft). Then, I put the normal Catacombs in my deck.

If you really want to save money, don't. They are fun though.

It's fun to utterly pwn your opponents. Also, you are probably eventually going to go to FNM with the $500 decks and you might want to win some.

It is fun if they are used to winning...i usually try to bring decks that aren't as dominant so they have a chance i especially dont bring control decks because they are very very annoying to play against

As long as there isn't mass destruction, control decks can be fun to play against.

Do you play only aggro then? Even my Ally deck has a few Mana Leaks.

yes i do for the most part i have a very good aggro white deck, but it does have some control in the kill spells...well remove spells if u wanna get technical I just dont like decks based around killing everything an opponent has.
